The main objectives for this course is to first prepare students for future calculus courses beginning with AP Calculus AB. Another objective is to prepare students for the placement test that is commonly given to students that do not major in science, engineering, computer science, physics, etc. Engineering majors often are required to take 3 or 4 calculus courses in their first 2 years university study. This course prepares students for all the calculus courses. Therefore, this is a challenging course. It is NOT recommended as an elective for students not planning to major in physics or engineering. AP Statistics is a better course for these students and precalculus is NOT a prerequisite for AP Statistics.
